English 1301

• Librarians can help lecturers build assignments to strengthen or create basic library competencies that include

  • the strategic use of the library catalog,

  • the location of materials and services in the library, and

  • a beginning understanding of different types of available materials.

• They can visit classes to discuss the role of the library and librarians in student education.

• They can show students how to do simple searches in databases and identify electronic resources that will be useful for their assignments.

 

 

English 1302

• Librarians can reinforce students' knowledge of citation styles and increase their capacity to correctly build lists of resources.

• They can build exercises to help students effectively access the information on the library’s databases, including the use of advanced searches.

• They can teach students to increase resources for an assignment by using materials that they already have.

• They can explain the process of research and help students develop their processes.

• And they can work in your class, presenting helpful strategies, working with small groups or individuals, or arranging for activities in the library classrooms.
